About This Game Disney's Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon is a 3D RTS game focusing on space combat. In the main campaign's story-driven missions, you begin play as Jim Hawkins, a cadet in the Royal Navy's fight against pirates and the deadly Procyon Fleet, with an eye toward eventual promotion to fleet commander. Skirmish and multiplayer modes allow the choice of playing as all three factions. Successfully completed missions result in ship and fleet enhancements, more experienced crews, and upgraded weapons. Royal Navy Fleet weapons are only slightly inferior to the reworked weapons of the Procyon Fleet but are sturdier and less vulnerable. Ships for the Royal Navy range from torpedo boats and war sloops to escorts, frigates, and the impressive StarHammer, while pirates man sloops, gunboats, schooners, assault cutters, and more, including several unique designs like the carrack and barque. The Procyon Fleet is built for speed and maneuverability, geared for fast hit-and-run attacks, and as the game progresses, news of a mysterious Ironclad Fleet surfaces as well. Ship designs in Battle at Procyon are fashioned after the seafaring ships from the golden age of sail, with solar winds filling the sails and rigging. Arsenals reflect futuristic models of light, medium, and heavy weapons such as laserball and plasma cannons, beam weapons, Gatling guns, harpoons, fire and net launchers, gravity waves, torpedoes, mortars, and more. Had this game when i was a kid. Was jumping for joy when i found out it is on steam. Im on windows 10. If the game does not work. Go into the files on the game and make it launch in windows 7 mode. and 800x600. The game does not support 1080p. and sometimes wont play if you dont set it up like that. Game is just like a remembered.. This is a simple yet very enjoyable game. Anyone interest in sailing ship navel battles will thoroughly enjoy this game. All ages (meaning I think kids and adults will like it).. I have the original disc for this game and I spent hundreds of hours playing it back in the day.It is criminally underrated, sports a myriad of mechanics that modern games brag about having one or two of, and it is in dire need of a revival. If the multiplayer for this game was still operational, it would be at the top of the charts.Even without multiplayer, it is a massively fun game and at the default price of 9.99 USD, it is definitely worth getting and playing through the campaign and skirmishes.. i got a chance to play the demo a long long time ago and now that i can buy and play the full verison all i have to say is its pretty dammn good. even though its an older game it still stands up well.. Breaks the form of a cheap cash-in after a recently released movie.My favorite part: Modding. The game and world files can easily be edited in notepad to create all sorts of weird inconvieniences/improvements. There were official modding and map tools made for the game when it was released, however these tools have never surfaced.Online multiplayer has been broken since (insert year here) when DIsney shut down the servers. But it is possible to play long distance on Tunngle.Simply put: It's a good, simple, nostalgic RTS space battle game based off of a good movie. Although it's still identical to the retail version, the biggest difference is that it's more accessable to fans and people who have never played it.(P.S. Shoutout to Kerberos Productions, as many of the developers from Barking Dog Studios/Rockstar Vancouver that worked on this founded Kerberos, which still makes games today). Amazing game for its time. A great sequel to Treasure Planet, and it actually feels part of the same universe. The combat is amazing, and is similar to the Age of Sail (not the game, the time period) regarding much (but by no means all) of the combat, while still having that "spacey" feeling. The story (which I will not be revealing much of here) has it's twists and turns and leads to a climatic conclusion that will test your knowledge of the game and your abilty to control the fleet that you command. There are tough spots in the game (my least favorite being those of missions 4 and 6), but none of these are beyond the capacity of the player to beat. I'd advise saving well before significant combat.My favorite part of the game is the comparison between the still largely wooden ships of the Royal Navy and the mysterious Ironclads, which reminds me (history buff that I am) of the battles between fleets still made of wood and new, steam powered vessels covered in iron and powerful weaponry.Overall, great game, and, as I said before, seems to be a great sequel to the movie.
